Happy Halloween!
Our team had such a great time getting displays set up and being creative in the month leading up to our 2022 Family Halloween Event. We started buying, organising, and making displays in the first week of October. Our favourite display would have to be the witch’s hut! We put so much time and effort into every little detail like the handmade potions and spell books, and the actual hut itself. It was very tedious and time consuming, but it looked amazing in the end. Most of the displays on the day were handmade which made it even more special.
We then decided it was probably time to post the event on Facebook and share it around to get a good indication on how many people were coming and it’s fair to say we had no idea we would get the amount of interest we did. We thought we would probably get around 50-100 people turn up at the most! When the event had been up for only 24 hours we have 95 people coming and 200 interested, we panicked a little and went out to Costco and bought a few more animatronics for our awesome displays and huge boxes of lollies & chocolate. Luckily, we did go all out and get all these lollies and displays because around 600-700 people showed up to our event, we could not believe it!
The 31st of October started out like a normal day would, our technicians were at client’s houses doing treatments and the girls in the office were answering phone calls and booking in clients. It then hit around 2pm and we all got into our costumes and started cooking sausages on the barbeque while we waited for our face painters, jumping castle, wildlife show & DJ Nige to show up around 2:30pm for a 3pm start. We hadn’t even fully set up yet and people were parking and walking in at 2:30pm and that’s when we knew this was going to be big! By 3pm it was already so busy we could not believe how many people were already here, it was packed full inside the factory.
We had DJ Nige here with some awesome music and his gorgeous combi van, we had 2 face painters, Twinklefaires Face painting & Charms Face painting that did such an amazing & fast job on all the kids, we had a big jumping castle supplied by Dreamer Amusement that were so helpful & friendly helping us set it up and take it down and we had the amazing Animals of Oz come along with a range of different animals like big huntsman’s, small crocodiles, snakes and lizards, they did such a fantastic job letting everyone be so interactive with these animals and giving so many facts about them.
As the night went on, we made a total of 4 extra trips to the supermarkets for more lollies & chocolate. We thought we would definitely have enough considering the huge boxes of lollies we had bought at Costco, but it is Halloween and kids do love lollies!
Then it rained, and it poured and surprisingly everyone was still here having an awesome time! We loved seeing all the effort you put into your costumes, they were all so amazing.
