Although Gippsland Pest Management offers rodent treatments, if you are wanting to bait for rodents yourself the below instructions can help you achieve results. You can purchase all items on our online store.

  1. First off, you will need a few rodent bait stations, around 6.
  2. You’ll then need to open the bait station. To open the bait station, you would use the key that is located on the bottom of each station, you would need to place the key in the lock and give the key a half turn only, this will then unlock that side of the station and you would repeat the process on the alternate lock.
  3. After you open up the bait stations, you will need to put bait inside. To do that there is a steel rod secured inside the station, to get this out you need to lift the rod out from the left-hand side.
  4. You will need to put around 6-10 pieces of bait on each rod.
  5. Insert the rod back in the station and click it into place.
  6. Then shut the bait station and lock it.

Bait stations should be placed around the home in places like your roof void, subfloor if you have one, behind air conditioning units, in kitchen cupboards, garages and shedding and anywhere there is activity. These should always be out of reach of children and pets. We recommend checking your rodent stations either when you are getting activity or every three months, whichever is sooner.

There is no benefit in checking the rodent stations more frequently as rodents can be object shy and a person interacting with the rodent station all the time can cause them to be less likely to interact with the rodent station.

Did you know that rodents can have 20 babies at a time! They can also fit through anything the size of your little finger!
